Job Prerequisits:

• 21 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Wonder Lake fire district resident
• Illinois state drivers license.

Must be able to complete the application, attend the orientation session, pass the physical ability exam, background check,drivers license check, and medical exam. (NFPA 1500)

A 2 year probationary period in which Firefighter II and EMT-B courses must be obtained.  The Wonder Lake Fire Protection Dist. pays for all schooling.

WLFPD offers employment on a paid on call basis and a paid on premise basis.  We operate both programs out of both stations.  Paid on premise operates from 0600 till 1800 hours, 7 days a week.  Night duty from 1800 till 0600 hours and paid on call 24-7-365.
