The Wonder Lake Fire Protection District is located in Wonder Lake, IL. We are near the IL/WIS border, northwest of Chicago by about 60 miles. Our district is about 30 square miles and covers mostly residential with some commercial and little industrial. Our community is split down the middle by our lake which is a 4.5 mile long man made lake. We operate on a paid on call/paid on premise basis.
Station one is located at 4300 East Wonder Lake Road. This building was constructed on a three acre site in 1981 and dedicated May 31 of that year. Construction costs totaled $314,121. This is a one-story building with six bay apparatus floor, chief's office, office areas, meeting room, kitchen, and restrooms. This stations houses an ambulance, brush truck, shift commander vehicle, water tender, engine, squad and airboat. |

Station two is located at 3315 Thompson Road. This building was constructed in 1976 and dedicated on May 30 of that year. Construction costs totaled $174,794. This is a one-story building with four bay apparatus floor, office areas, meeting room, kitchen, and restrooms.
